Generations II Support Worker - Part-time/On-call
The Support Worker assures that the treatment/family plans
of the consumers are delivered according to the highest quality
standards. The Support Worker provides guidance and direction
for all consumers and their children within the Generations
II program in accordance with their individual service plan
and is expected to work closely with other disciplines to
create the best service program for every consumer while customizing
service interventions and interactions that meet the needs
of the individual and their child. Also, promoting good judgment
and encouraging independence.
Part-time:
Under the supervision of the programs Life Skills Coordinator/Supervisor,
the part-time weekend staff will monitor all the activities
- including the scheduled activities of the young mothers
and their children. You will be required to provide guidance
and direction for all consumers and their children in accordance
with their individual service plan.
The Support Worker may be required to accompany the mother
and her child(ren) to her therapeutic groups and daily appointments,
if necessary, provides transportation, models positive parenting
skills, teaches cooking, banking, budgeting and other life
skills and assists other program staff by supporting the consumer
when acquiring academic and vocation skills, promoting good
judgment and encouraging independence.
On-call:
Under the supervision of the programs Life Skills Coordinator/Supervisor
the On-call Support Worker will be called upon to fill in
temporarily for full or part-time employees who may be on
vacation, require a personal or sick day, etc. As an on-call
staff, you will be required to provide guidance and direction
for all consumers and their children in accordance with their
individual service plan.
The Support Worker may be required to accompany the mother
and her child(ren) to her therapeutic groups and daily appointments,
if necessary, provides transportation, models positive parenting
skills, teaches cooking, banking, budgeting and other life
skills and assists other program staff by supporting the consumer
when acquiring academic and vocation skills, promoting good
judgment and encouraging independence.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or High
School Diploma with 10-15 years of experience
Experience:
- Two (2) years experience working with children or adolescent
girls in a mental health setting.
- Experience with female-related issues and concerns.
Special Skills: Familiar with the multiple
child-serving systems (e.g. education, juvenile justice, child
welfare, mental health, drug and alcohol, health care, and
vocational rehabilitation)
