Director of Develpment
Summary: Northern Home for Children, based
in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, has served children
and families since 1853. It is currently looking to renovate
Merrick Hall, the original building on campus. Future capital
projects and a growing need for diversified funding sources
has resulted in the need to expand and grow its development
department to accommodate this growth and expansion.
The Director of Development is responsible for the planning,
implementation and management of all fundraising initiatives
and representing the organization to donors; prospect management,
annual development planning, corporate and donor relations
and development operations including staff supervision.
The Director of Development will report to the President/CEO
and will work closely with the Chair of the Development Committee
of the Board of Trustees and will supervise the Director of
Special Projects. The immediate capital campaign is projected
to be approximately $4 million with long range capital campus
improvements totaling upwards of $15 million.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Public
Relations, Communications or an equivalent combination of
education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive
knowledge of fundraising, planned giving, development, philanthropy,
public relations and event execution.
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in a fundraising,
promotions/event planning, public relations or marketing
function in a leadership or managerial role of increasing
and diplomatic skills.
- Grant writing, working knowledge of planning giving fundamentals
and capital campaign experience are preferred.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal
skills.
- Proven track record of soliciting and securing major
gifts, ability to work independently and in a team.
- Requires attention to detail and ability to manage multiple
projects simultaneously and effectively. Interested applicants
