Significant facility improvements guarantee
the success of programs designed to fulfill Northern Home's
mission and goals. The existing facilities were not designed
for our current broad continuum of services. Old buildings
and an unwieldy layout often make service delivery disjointed
and cumbersome. Maintaining these buildings over the years
has been challenging because funding sources provide for services,
but not for campus upkeep, repairs and renovations.
To meet those challengers, Northern Home for Children embarked
on an $10.4 million, multi-phase capital campaign that will
enable us to maintain, enhance and add to the wide range of
programs and services currently in place. The campaign funds
will be used to build two new buildings and renovate two existing
buildings.
Future plans will include the complete renovation of the
current administration building as well as the construction
of a community day care center in the existing Merrick Building,
which is not currently operational.
